Although the official playtest doesn’t start for a few days, it has already been leaked which game awaits testers in the secret online feature from Nintendo.

Do you remember that Nintendo was looking for volunteers for a new secret feature for Nintendo Switch Online a few weeks ago? Now it has been leaked what that is supposed to be. Namely, a new MMO that is strongly reminiscent of a mixture of

In the meantime, several participants have leaked details about Nintendo’s playtest program. The start was made by X user Ethan :3, who first published images of the unannounced game. However, these have since been removed for copyright reasons.

However, as is common practice on the internet, the screenshots were previously saved and distributed via various independent accounts. One of them is the streamer and X-user ZikadaPrime:

The screenshots are provided with texts that are intended to explain some elements of the game and provide a first insight. Translated, it says:

In this game, your goal is to work with others to fully develop a massive and expansive planet by using your creativity and collected resources. As you progress, you will discover new landscapes, enemies and resources that will become essential components of your journey.

During your adventure, you will gain access to special tools known as beacons. These generate a warming light that creates and cleans the land. The higher you place your beacon, the larger the illuminated zone will become. Within these zones, you can do your work. Players repeat this process until their current planet block is considered fully developed.

The Dev Core is a separate room next to the planet you are currently developing. Think of it as a social hub where you can interact with other players. In the Dev Core, you can improve your character, get items you need for your adventure, communicate with others, and much more.

The leak brings back memories: The published images and the associated texts suggest that the game is an upcoming MMO from Nintendo. At first glance, the block system makes the game look a lot like Minecraft. The planets and the task of developing the zones, on the other hand, bring back memories of the unique strategy adventure Pikmin.

The name of the game and the official release date are not yet known. The playtest will take place between October 24 and November 6, 2024. It is to be expected that more information will come to light during this period. So it remains exciting.

Nintendo recently proved just how creative it can be with the announcement of the Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo.
