Do you love sword fights and story-based role-playing games? Then two exciting releases could be waiting for you on Steam.
This week is comparatively relaxed on Steam – the big December blockbusters like Path of Exile 2, Delta Force and Marvel Rivals won’t be available for a few more days. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t any exciting new releases to discover!
While the big names are already clearing the stage for next week, this week some exciting insider tips are hiding among the Steam releases of the week
Highlight of the week: Gladio Mori
(Genre: Action – Developer: Plebeian Studio – Release: November 26 (Steam)
In Gladio Mori, you take on the role of a gladiator who has to prove himself in brutal fights to the death. The game stands out from the competition mainly because of its innovative, physics-based combat system Instead of standard animations or pre-programmed combos, control is entirely in your hands.
With a move editor, you can create your own movements and attacks: Do you want a particularly skillful sidestep or a devastating slashing combo? It’s all possible in Gladio Mori. Every movement, every strike, and every parry is physics-based. This means that the power and direction of your attacks depend directly on how you control your character and how you have previously created your moves.
This also means that hits have a real impact on your opponents: A well-aimed blow to the arm can knock the weapon out of your hand, while injuries to the legs can restrict your ability to move. You can also bleed your opponents to death with deep cuts or hit vital organs – it sounds gruesome, but it doesn’t look that bad in action, as the characters look more like crash test dummies.
