The actors playing two of One Piece’s most important villains have been confirmed because Netflix apparently made the official announcement too soon.
Netflix has apparently spoiled a big announcement for season 2 of One Piece. Because it looks like the cast of Sir Crocodile and Nico Robin should only be announced in the coming days and in the course of Geek ed Week.
However, several sites (such as ComicBook) and fans have not overlooked a detail on the official Netflix website : who plays two of One Piece’s most important villains in season 2 (and most likely beyond):
- Joe Manganiello (True Blood, Zack Snyder’s Justice League) plays Sir Crocodile
- Lera Abova (Anna: The Agent) appears as Nico Robin

Who are Sir Crocodile and Nico Robin anyway?
In Sir Crocodile is one of the greatest and most important opponents that the Straw Hat Pirates face in their early adventures. As one of the Seven Samurai of the Sea and leader of the secret organization Baroque Works, Crocodile, or Mr. Zero, has his sights set on the desert kingdom of Alabasta.
Sir Crocodile is one of the most powerful pirates in the world of One Piece, with the ability of the Sand Fruit. This makes Crocodile almost untouchable (at least until the Haki concept is established much later in One Piece) and an absolutely deadly and sometimes even overpowering opponent.
Nico Robin is the number 2 in Crocodile’s organization and first appears in One Piece as the villain Ms. All Sunday. But the fan favorite joins Luffy and Co. at the latest after the conclusion of the Alabasta Arc and becomes an essential part of the Straw Hat Pirates.
Robin has the devilish powers of the flora-flora fruit and can use it to grow an unlimited number of body parts in her immediate vicinity. Robin is also an excellent archaeologist and is immensely interested in the history and past of her world.
In season 2 of One Piece, Sir Crocodile (Joe Manganiello) and Nico Robin (Lera Abova) are unlikely to play a major role yet, but they are at least prepared for the great Alabasta Arc. At least we already know which islands Luffy and Co. will be heading for in the new episodes and what conclusions can be drawn from this about the story.
The cast of the live-action series of One Piece has grown considerably in recent weeks anyway. For example, actors for the roles of Captain Smoker, Lieutenant Kashigi, Dr. Kureha, Mrs. 3 and Ms. Valentin, Wapol, King Cobra and, of course, Princess Vivi have been announced.
It is currently unknown when season 2 of One Piece will start on Netflix. Since filming started in July of this year, a release in late summer 2025 would not be unlikely. In this regard, fans will have to exercise patience for the time being.
