The next edition of Steam Next Fest starts on October 14. Find out exactly when it begins and which exciting games await you here.

The best way to find out if we’ll like a game is to play it ourselves. And soon there will be another great opportunity to do just that: Steam Next Fest starts again on October 14. During this event, you can try out numerous demos of new, unreleased games for free.

In October, the selection is particularly large: well over 3,000 titles are available as a free demo for a week. You can already view them on the Steam website, but Valve reserves the right to make changes to the list until the event starts.

  • Start date: October 14, 7:00 p.m.
  • End of event: October 21, 7:00 p.m.

What games are included?

We have already browsed through the list of games in advance and would like to give you a small selection of potentially exciting titles.

  • Arcane Wilds: A real-time strategy game with an extraordinary western fantasy setting. You build your settlement and defend yourself against attacks from mystical creatures. But be careful: resources you collect can be stolen by competitors.
  • Beyond Astra: A 4X strategy game reminiscent of Stellaris with its space setting. You explore space, colonize planets and meet other civilizations, which you can approach diplomatically or confront with military force.

  • Commandos Origins: In the next installment of the Commandos series, we experience the origin of the legendary elite unit. In the real-time tactics game, we sneak through Nazi bases during World War II and sabotage the enemy’s warfare.
  • Dynasty of the Sands: After the Pharaoh remake you will also want to be the ruler of an Egyptian city in this city-building game. However, you will have to survive a lot of dangers such as floods, famines and diseases. In addition, there is a change of seasons and a day-night rhythm.
  • Industry Giant 4.0: In the latest installment of the economic simulation, you take care of the three pillars of construction, production and growth, and maintain an ever-expanding industrial empire. We were able to play in August and saw a lot of potential.

  • Jotunnslayer: Hordes of Hel:; this action roguelike looks like Diablo with Vikings, but its gameplay is more like Vampire Survivors. You slaughter your way through hordes of monsters in stylish graphics and receive permanent upgrades after a round. When we played it in July, however, the game still lacked its own ideas.

  • Sand: A completely different post-apocalypse awaits you in the open world of Sand: here you explore a desert and build running bases, the so-called tramplers. However, you not only have to defend yourself against the dangers of the desert, but also against other players.

  • The Spirit of the Samurai:In this 2D action game, you play a samurai who has risen from the dead to face the horrors of Japanese mythology and protect your village from an army of undead.
If you don’t have time to try demos yourself, you can still benefit from Steam Next Fest. We’ll be busy playing and reporting on the best games, of course.

You can look forward to several game presentations during the course of the week. And if you have any tips for exciting demos yourself, feel free to post them in the comments!
