Even the path to Paragon 300 is extremely long, but one brave hero from Sanctuary ventured it in hardcore mode.
With the release of Vessel of Hatred and Season 6, the new maximum Paragon level in Diablo 4 is 300. The grind to get there is “insane,” agrees Reddit user WisdomX_307504. But he didn’t shy away from the challenge, and he even took it on in hardcore mode.
“I need to touch grass first”
At least that’s what WisdomX thought after he had brought his hardcore character to paragon level 300 in 120 hours He captured the final moment in a screenshot and shared it on Reddit:

What is Hardcore? In this game mode, you lose all progress on the respective character if you die even once and have to start completely from scratch. So there are dozens, sometimes hundreds of hours at stake.
How did he do it?Of course, it took a lot of time and intense focus to make it to the highest level. But the new and extremely powerful Spiritborn class from Vessel of Hatred was also a great help. Specifically, the Evade build, which is still extremely strong despite being nerfed.
But WisdomX doesn’t just play it because it’s so extremely strong, but also because, as he says, it takes a build for the “insane grind” that’s simply fun to play
Incidentally, the hardcore player didn’t buy a single item from another player, but farmed the complete gear himself in order to gain a lot of experience.
Blizzard did give the player a reward for reaching paragon level 300: in addition to a new title, players also receive a mount in the form of a white and black tabby cat and a trophy for the mount, the blue soulstone.
How much XP is this “lot”?
The actual numbers are in the billions, but the ratio of how the XP requirement per level increases is more interesting. The curve is not quite as steep as in Diablo 2, but it’s still quite respectable, as WisdomX shows in another Reddit post:

By Paragon 243, you have only collected 10 percent of the required total XP to level 300. The amount of XP needed from level 0 to 284 is the same as from level 285 to 300. This means that on “the last meters” the blue bar moves only painfully slowly forward.
Veterans of Diablo probably know the saying “92 is halfway to 99,” which refers to the enormous XP requirement in the last levels of Diablo 2. Diablo 4 is a little less demanding in that regard. Still, if you play it in hardcore mode, with the sword of Damocles always hanging over you, you have to really love not only the grind but also the danger.
